InsWeb Insurance Blog

Matt

Hey everyone, my name is Matt Loewe and I am one of the InsWeb Bloggers. I'd be lying if I said I always wanted to be a writer, I actually wanted to be a professional baseball player, but I really found a passion for writing while at college. I graduated from Upper Iowa University, proud home of the Peacocks, where I played baseball and majored in Journalism and Mass Communications.

Aside from writing about insurance, I really enjoy spending time with my fiancé Jackie, and being outdoors and being active. I like biking, I am getting into the whole bike racing scene, and enjoy running and going to the gym. We have 2 cats, Kiara and Captain Smitherton, and a bearded dragon, Rocky, that keep me busy when I'm home. I love to watch sports (I'm a huge Chicago Cubs and Bears fan!) and am somewhat of a movie buff and enjoy reading (when the cats let me). I'm also a Pisces and like long walks on the beach...

Gina

Ciao tutti! I'm Gina Scott--writer, gardener, and now InsWeb blogger. Born and raised in California, a pen in my hand, I started writing when I was a kid. Wasn't till I was a freshman in college that I realized you could write for a career. I graduated with a degree in English from Sacramento State (Go Hornets!) and the rest as they say is history.

When I'm not writing I like to read (sensing a theme here?). I believe Lewis Carroll was a genius, and Steven King is my writing idol. When I'm not writing or reading, I like to go to the movies, travel, spend time with friends and family--typical twenty-something fare. I have a fairly green thumb proven by an herb garden I'm particularly proud of, and have taken to scrapbooking--mostly my many adventures with my boyfriend Walt. I don't really have a motto or favorite quote, but today I'll end with this: "Where there is Life, there is Hope"--spoken by Grover on Sesame Street (though I hear so did Cicero).

Robert

Hi everyone, I'm Robert Lewis. As you probably know by now, I'm a member of the InsWeb blog. Let me tell you a little about myself...

For the majority of my collegiate career, I attended California State University - Sacramento. There I served as a sports writer for the college newspaper publication, the Sacramento State Hornet. I had an opportunity to cover one of my deepest passions: sports. Collegiate sports, season previews, and women's hoops were my primary focus. In 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

In my idle time I enjoy watching basketball, studying literature, and keeping active in church functions.
