Hurricane Adrian, the first major storm of the 2011 hurricane season, is strengthening off the Pacific coast of Mexico. It is currently a Category 3 storm.

Maximum sustained winds reached 115 mph on Thursday, according to forecasters. The U.S. National Hurricane Center does not expect the storm to make landfall.

Hurricane season officially runs from June 1 through November 30, so if you haven't checked your home insurance coverage levels lately, now's a good time to do it.
