New Study: High Gas Prices Reduce Auto Accidents
|
Need something positive to start your weekend? How about this: High gas prices help to reduce the number of auto accidents.
A study by the Social Science Research Center of Mississippi State found that rising gas prices results in fewer auto accidents. This includes alcohol-related accidents.
One reason may be that there are fewer cars on the road when fuel prices surge. As gas prices rise, Americans drive fewer miles to save a few bucks.
Here's another happy thought: Fewer auto accidents will even help lower national auto insurance premiums.
